La Maddalena · GUIDE

Monti d'Arena

The north-island beach with the unmistakable sand dune: easy to build into a flexible La Maddalena beach day.

WHY IT MAKES THE CUT

Monti d'Arena is one of the most recognisable beaches on La Maddalena itself, defined by its pale sand dune, shallow sandy water and granite edges. It is a practical counterpoint to the archipelago's boat-only coves: a strong option when you want a beautiful beach without committing the whole day to a crossing or trail.

PRACTICAL

On the northern side of La Maddalena between the Abbatoggia and Marginetto area. Official regional tourism information notes parking, bus links and a refreshment point; seasonal services can change, so treat them as a planning signal rather than a guarantee.

ACCESS

Road-accessible. Parking conditions and summer crowding can vary. The dune is part of a sensitive coastal environment: use established access routes and avoid treating the dune as recreational terrain.
